A milestone for us today, we’ve finally broken through the £100 in the kitty. It has been through a real mixture of selling prints, Fiverr gigs and selling our unwanted items. It finally feels like we’ve got some real money to invest, but it’s so difficult to decide where to spend it wisely In fact, having that money has made us feel a little nervous about the whole project. We don’t want to slip backwards now we’ve got off to such a great start, but we have to keep reinvesting for the project to progress!
It’s also quite a challenge to keep pressing forward with this at the same time as building a new business – always torn between what we need to do and what we want to do. It feels like we need to schedule time to each thing, as well as family, resting and improving our home. That’s difficult though, isn’t it?
So what’s next?
Well, I think that now there’s actually something to read on the blog, I need to get serious about it. I love writing (even if no one reads it!) and it helps me to focus. From now on I’m going to commit to a minimum of one post per week to update you on what’s been happening. As well as that I have found a great online business network (though networking for my real job) and have managed to secure some FREE training on working with WordPress as well as a self hosted account (I think that’s what it’s called lol!). This means that I will eventually be able to monetise the blog by way of affiliate links, adverts and sponsorship deals. Don’t worry though, I’m not going to suddenly start trying to sell you stuff or have a site full of advertising. It just means that if I find an amazing opportunity or product and want to tell you about it, then I might get a few pence if you click on any links I provide and then purchase yourself.
I might also have a small ecommerce section so you can buy the things I’m making for the project and support us along our journey. As well as cheap recipes for real families and a page of freebies & easy crafts to make and sell that might help you along!
We have another amazing announcement for you and we feel it’s even bigger than the £100 mark… Watch out for tomorrow’s post, it’s a great one! 🙂
